The event took place from 18th to 20th May 2022 in Nimes, France.
As global warming accelerates and the consequences of forest fires are becoming more and more severe, the Aerial Firefighting Conference represented a good opportunity for bringing together over 500 aerial firefighting and search & rescue professionals under the same roof. The aim is to discuss how science and innovation can enhance the efficiency and safety of air and air-land mission to increase the firefighting efficiency.
Our partner involved in WP5 MayPol Llorca from Airbus Defence and Space presented the contribution that High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) can provide for fire prevention and fighting.
