The XVIII International Seminars on the Overarching Issues of the European Area is a conference focused on addressing societal challenges through the lens of science and academia. It aims to foster discussions and collaboration among experts from various continents and institutions to develop strategies and solutions for contemporary global problems, spanning social, cultural, economic, and environmental domains. Held in Porto from 23 to 26 May 2024, the conference provides a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences to create a meaningful impact on the world.

In this framework, ForestWISE, ISA and CTFC will co-host a 3-hours FIRE-RES dedicated workshop titled ‘Shaping Future Fire-Resilient Landscapes and Communities in Portugal‘ on 23 May at 9am. The agenda includes insights from FIRE-RES project​ and the construction of roadmap for resilient communities and landscapes, identifying synergies from EU funding projects.
