Fire in the Earth System next international congress is planned from 3 to 6 June 2024. fEs2024 proposes a hybrid conference with scientists, citizens and practitioners to share information, ideas and goals to use fire as a tool to achieve sustainability.

The meeting will be held in Extremadura (Cáceres) with the collaboration of the University of Extremadura (Manuel Pulido and Jesús Barrena). Participants can register here. While the days dedicated to the conference are 3, 4 and 5 June, a field trip to the Sierra de Gata is planned for 6 June. Further pre-congress excursions are planned from 31 May to 2 June in the landscape of the Badajoz region. Mérida, Tierra de Barros, Sierra de Alor and La Siberia. Other post-congress excursions are planned too on 7, 8, and 9 June in Monfragüe, Valle de Jerte and Las Villuercas.
